API is consolidating its activities in various Countries with a view to use these as a springboard to expand its operations within the rest of Africa. We are aiming at providing the present and long-term needs of our students, members and partners. We that all areas of concern especially NGOs, Public and Private sectors including hospitals, schools and also in local government administrations, must harness affordable capacity building. Our strategy is, where appropriate, incorporating both Capacity building expertise and Information Technology in whatever project undertaken to enhance the usefulness of the programs and project to the students, workers and the surrounding population in Africa.
We offer a variety of capacity development courses to African Nationals. With our various modules, we have had the great coverage and impact in Africa where by 3160 graduate students have been trained with tangible skills in just a period of 4 years, some of which are of Franc-phone, Anglo-phone and Arabic backgrounds. We have expertise in caring out sensitization, Training and empowerment to our clients in offices and at community level.
The ICT Services Training Team can provide standard or bespoke training courses for a wide range of applications software at our modern training facility based at current information trends. Our courses suit beginners as well as advanced users and cover Introduction to Computers, Windows Awareness, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, Internet Access and Authoring, Local Area Network and ‘Office’ skills.. We are able to develop bespoke courses or amend any of our standard courses to suit your needs.
We have got experienced researchers with proven skills in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research is carried out in various fields and it may be done for an individual or an organization such as Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation together with Planning and Budgeting. We undertake strategic planning for organizations – private, public and NGOs with focus on vision, mission and strategic objectives. This is aimed at giving direction to the company or organization for such a strategic period. We also monitor progress of implementation of activities thereby helping make projects and programs stay on planned courses of action. We then carry out mid-term review as well final evaluation exercises.
In everything, I’ve learn from African Population Institute (API) has extremely prepared my way to trust and knowledge; I know that African Population Institute (API) has prepared something better in my life. Life may be tough but always remember that we’ve got a God who’s tougher. I know that African Population Institute (API) had always been the source of my strength as I walked through this journey. It was a very long journey indeed, and I know that African Population Institute (API) management has always been walking with me by my side. A few months ago, I’ have received my Bachelor degree in Business Administration. And one more, I believe that this great accomplishment in my life was because of African Population Institute API. It’s not because of my own strength but by God’s grace too.
I honestly believe that the knowledge I have learnt in the last two years will change my life,open more doors and secure more opportunities for my career and won position of field officer at local NGO.I gained tremendous knowledge and skills in a livelihoods project that empower women traders in Garissa County. During my time at Africa Population Institute, starting from the first time I stepped into the institute since 2014 for my Diploma program till present (2016-2019) where I graduated with a Bachelor Degree, I have gained a great deal of life changing experiences and skills where I realized a change on Job positions from Hygiene Promoter till I got a project Coordinator position where I manage Education, WASH, Protection and FSL projects concurrently. The most important thing I gained through this experience is effective communication and conflict resolution at the workplace. It is key to be able to deliver one’s availability and problem with their supervisor beforehand so that both sides are aware of the situation and that a solution could be made before turning into a huge conflict at work.
